Aldi light up globe / cloche / bell jar

I wanted to let me lovely followers know about a stunning little item I picked up today in Aldi.

So, they've got their Christmas range in store. Some wrapping paper, light up parcels etc, but I fell in love with this little beauty!!  The light up globe!

It's so pretty!! And reminds be of the one from Beauty and the Beast (without the rose).

They do a few different versions, with decorations in etc. But I fell in love with the beautiful simplicity of this one! Just stunning!

You can view it online here

Euro 2016 at Aldi special buy football heaven

So I saw Aldi had a range Euro 2016 football clothing coming to stores and online on the 5th June, so of course you know where I was off to first thing!

Mstr J was wanting a kit, and I'm sure most of you, like myself can't afford the expensive kits in the sports shops.
So as always, I was super pleased to see my favourite store, Aldi, bringing out a range in their normal affordable style!!

So, what did I buy......

My first item of course, and my fave, was the kit!!
Size options start at 2-3, and go up to 9-10.  Sizing is spot on, and fitted as I expected.
The material is your usual polyester footie kit.
The best bit, it cost me a staggering £5.99!!! Crazy!!  Thank you Aldi!
Next I grabbed a tshirt. I thought this would look cute with some jeans or another pair of shorts. At only £2.99, I couldn't not get him one of those too!
Sizing is the same as the kit, 2-3 up to 9-10.

So, since we're having a good old British summer, I also couldn't resist the hoodie to keep Mstr J warm! Damn you sunshine!
Sizing same again!
Little man loved this too!
Only £5.99

Last but not least I picked up some trainers for him, to complete the look!
Sizing as with most trainers I find, came up small. So where I normally get an 11, he needed a 12.  Again he really liked these. His first pair of big boy (lace up) shoes!
These were £8.99 and the sizes ranged from a child 12 to a 3.

There is plenty of other great items available. To name a few....
Official football £8.99
Cap £3.99
Adults football shirt £5.99

Another great thing I have noticed is that Aldi are now stocking some items online! Which is fab!
Postage is currently free as a special introductory offer, so well worth a browse online as you may be able to get something you missed out on instore and even order something that's due to come in, so you don't miss out or have to rush to the store!

As always, with specialbuys, these are limited, so get them while you can!

There's only 1 thing left to say I guess....

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!

Homemade Disney mum daughter shoes

So, as a family were off on our first ever trip to Disneyland Paris soon!!!  To say I'm excited is an understatement!

We're doing a big reveal in a couple of weeks to Miss Iz & Mstr J. I've gone a bit crazy buying clothes, badges etc etc for the reveal & the trip!

Then, I saw on a Facebook page I'm on that someone had done their own shoes!!  I NEEDED some! Not the same design, but something more me!

So off I went to the local cheap clothing store (primani). Found some £3 white canvas pumps for me, perfect!! Then while browsing, I saw little white pumps in Miss Iz's size!!  LIGHTBULB MOMENT!!!!!!  I could do us matching shoes!!

We have a mutual love for princess Belle, so she was my first thought, but any ideas I had were a bit beyond my capabilities!  Then it came to me, Minnie!! Good old simple, but effective & much loved Minnie Mouse!!

I googled some images & found this one
Perfect!!

So, the how to part....

First, freehand I used a pencil, so as not to destroy the shoes!! I drew the outline. Then once happy, I used a staedtler fine liner pen to go over the outline.
Step 1 below ....

I was pretty pleased at this point & tempted to stop there! But I decided I'd do what I set out to.
I ordered some fabric paints from Amazon. Only cheapie ones as I didn't want to waste money on what could ultimately become a disaster!!
I was originally going to use my sharpies, but people online warned me they could spread/run!

Once they came I did the bows first!
Step 2 below....

Again I was so pleased I was tempted to stop here! But as before I told myself to see it through.
Next step was the black.
Step 3 below.....

So now they are drying!
All that is left to do is give them a covering of modge podge to seal the design in case they get wet!!

Bring on Disney! I'm so excited if hurts!!!

And now I can't wait to wear our matching mummy & daughter shoes!!

Mother's Day at Aldi

So I haven't done a trip to Aldi recently, weather has been pretty rubbish so I've stayed in when I can most of the time.

But I was bored, felt the need to get out the house for a bit of air & a browse. So off I went to Aldi as I can always count on them to quench my browsing urge!  I was pleasantly surprised to see they had their Mothers Day special buys range in!

Aldi as ever didn't disappoint. They are really up there & fighting their side against the leading stores. Showing they can match quality & price!

What did I buy, not going to lie, I struggle with a mum who wants for nothing, she doesn't really have any hobbies etc, so it's very hard to buy for.

Firstly I saw the stunning luxury soft touch scarves. These were in a few different designs/colours. They were stunning & reminded me of a high end supermarket/high street store. Very elegant & ladylike.  They felt so soft.  Only £5.99 each I was super impressed they'd managed to get something so luxurious for such a great price! I almost bought myself one too!!

Next I picked up a garden gift set for mum.  One thing she does seem to do is get out in the garden once the sun is shining. Making her space look pretty, and what better way to do it than with a pretty girlie garden set.  These are only £6.99 and came a few different designs/colours. I picked the one below for mum.   Price wise this seemed like a pretty good deal to me!

Last & not least I treated myself to a visage pro style super cleanser.  I'm not the most girlie of girls, so I hoped this would make my life easy & make me treat myself to some me time a little more.
What it does...
- designed to cleanse, soften & smooth your skin
- water resistant for bathroom use
- 6 different attachments for a full facial cleanse
- equipped with storage cradle
- requires 2 X AA batteries (included)

The cleanser is cordless & water resistant, so will be great for using in the bathroom. Has a sponge, skin toner, massager, dermabrasion & cleansing brushes.
Not going to lie, I haven't had a chance to try this before I wrote this. I wanted to get this post done for you ASAP! It was only £12.99, so I couldn't resist, & didn't want any of you to miss it either.

As usual, Aldi special buys are only while stocks last, so get in there quickly.

Galaxy Quick Reads - mummy heaven

Those of you who have been reading my blogs for a while, firstly I'd like to apologise, I've not been around for a while, I've had a lot of family issues going on, but I'm back, & I won't be leaving you all again!!

Secondly, those who have been reading my blogs will remember me writing before about Galaxy Quick Reads coming out, well, if you, like me, enjoyed them first time around, you'll be glad to hear, they're BACK!!!!

So, like last time, I grabbed myself a couple of their bargain £1 books & a bar of Galaxy, obviously, and settled down for a read!

As before, these little books are great for those mummies like me who are always on the go & can hardly take 5 minutes to themselves!  Grab your quick read, get a few pages done & off you go!

So first book I grabbed.......

A Baby At The Beach Cafe - by Lucy Diamond
This book follows Evie in her story at the beach cafe! What a great mini book. I have read the beach cafe so knew the characters, but equally you don't need to know them to enjoy this book. It's stands alone in its own fabulousness. I love Evie, I love the beach cafe, I want to be her & I want more more more!! Easy to pick up here & there, & you won't want to put it down!  You'll be screaming from behind the toilet door "sorry kiddies, mummy will be 5 more minutes!"

Secondly ......

The Double Clue & Other Hercule Poirot Stories - by Agatha Christie
So, I don't normally 'do' crime type stories, but the fact that this was mini tempted me. I can't stand a dragged out story, so can't 'do' a 500 page book,......... Just tell me who the flippin murderer was!!!!!!
But this was fab! The stories were short, punchy, hooked me & gave me all the answers in only 1 trip to the loo! (I'm a mother, this is how I judge my time!).  I loved it, maybe even more than the above book which is my normal type of read! Give me more Agatha, I want more mini stories.....please!!!

Ok, so the fact I spent most of my reading time while on the loo, meant I didn't enjoy my bar of Galaxy while reading them....that would be far too unhygienic! ....... I did enjoy it while popping out the kitchen for a second & sticking my head in the fridge while out of sight & eating a cube or 2!!!! Yum!!

So mummies, or non mummies, whoever you are, enjoy a quick read, try something you wouldn't normally, you never know what might take a fancy, & for only £1 each, they're definitely worth a try!!!

Aldi wine putting a smile on mummies face after a stressful day!

So, I was offered the chance to trial a couple of bottles of Aldi wine. I'm sure all my mummy followers would agree, if you are offered free wine, you'd be silly to say no!!

I received a bottle of each, red & white.

I'm not a red wine fan, so I made hubby sample this first. The label mentioned 'beautifully fragrant with ripe cherries, fleshy raspberries, and red fruited plum flavours'.  My husband agreed with this, he said he could taste the cherries and raspberries . He thought it was delicious.  I went against myself and decided to try it...... 'Don't turn down wine' my head was saying. I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was quite nice. I wouldn't go back for more, but it wasn't horrible. Hubby happily enjoyed most of the rest of the bottle. As a red wine drinker he said it was a great bottle, especially at Aldi price!! He even put some with some lemonade and made a sangria!
Since he left some in the bottle, I decided to add it to a stew. It definitely intensified the sauce and added a rich full flavour. Yum!! Def how I like my red wine!!
Vignobles roussellet Pinot noir £4.39

So onto the White. I'd be lying if I didn't say this was probably the best white wine I've had!! It was smooth and slid down with ease.
Boasts 'refreshing and fragrant with a perfect and intriguing balance of tangy lemon, weighty fruit and a subtle waxy nuttiness'
Ok, so I'm no connoisseur, I usually describe wines in my crude manor based on 'gag factor'! Most wines I find, I sip, start to think it's ok, then there's this end gag. It's the bit which puts me off. But this had no gag factor!!! Wooohhooo!! Go Aldi!!! I will definitely be back for more of this wine.
The exquisite collection gavi £5.49

Nowadays we all can't afford many luxuries, needs must, and essentials are what we buy. But if you shop at Aldi you can definitely afford to treat yourself to a bottle of wine!
