Houmous - Asda

Well I did warn you there might be some randomness coming......

So today I popped to asda for a browse. I love the clothing in there, so always check that out first, then browse the aisles.

As with most people I can't help a check on the reduced shelf. Today, I picked up Chosen By You white bean & sunblush red pepper houmous. It also has 30% less fat. (Yay! says my waistline).
Obviously I then needed to head back to the bread aisle for some pittas to dip.  I'm not a fan of sandwiches for lunch, so this was going to make a lovely change for me.

After getting home & putting away the shopping, I fed Miss Iz her bottle. Then it was my turn. I toasted & sliced up 2 of the pittas. I was nervous & excited to see what the houmous was going to taste like.

My first dip & I melted!!! I have never tasted houmous like it. It had a smooth texture & a scrummy sweet taste from the peppers. It was pretty damn amazing. With a little help from Miss Iz (who was now in her walker). Yes, she was having little bits of soft pitta dipped too.  I managed to get through nearly the whole pot!!! The only thing that stopped my was the thought that if I stopped I could enjoy some more tomorrow with more pittas.

At only £1 for the pot and 50p for the pack of pittas I have lunch for 2 days sorted. & if you want it as a snack it could go much further!!
Well done Asda, I will definitely be visiting for this again!

Fashion For Less - Aldi

Today I took a trip to my local Aldi store in search of some bargains. To my delight, they had some baby items in stock.  Those who know me know I'm terrible for spending money on things for the kids! But this time the Hubby couldn't complain......

What I bought...

As the weather is cold I went for some cute little socks for baby Iz.  Since we have started weaning the little miss, I also picked up a pack of long sleeve bibs, to keep those grabbing arms clean!

Price....

The cute little striped socks were only £2.49 for a pack of 5 pairs. You can't go wrong at less than 50p a pair! The long sleeve bibs were only £2.99 for a pack of 2. Fantastic!

What I thought....

The Socks - these fit Miss Iz fantastically. Unlike other stores they were sized by age. I chose 3-6 months as that's the clothes size she is in and they were true to it.  They felt lovely and soft, I couldn't wait to get them on her little toes.  Little miss struggles with socks, i.e. she cant seem to keep them on her feet! I remember this issue with Mstr J, so I'm guessing its more of a sock thing than my kids being weird!  I put a pair of these on her as soon as I got back to the car.  These actually stayed on her feet the rest of the day! I was very impressed.  The pack I bought came in 5 lovely girlie colours, and there was others to chose from.

The Bibs - these were one size and fit all the way up to toddlers.  As Miss Iz is only 9 months (and in 3-6 months clothes), I thought she would be a bit on the small side, but actually they fitted well.  The soft towelling material made them really comfortable for madam.  The back fastened at the top by Velcro for easy opening & closing.  My favourite feature was the panelling of the front.  The soft towelling front meant I could use it to wipe Miss Iz's face gently & it would also soak up any moisture. Plus the water repellent backing stopped any of the moisture soaking through on to her clothes. I thought this was great as most long arm bibs don't do both!  This is the weaning stage & madam can get quite messy, but today she stayed food free!

There is also a number of other baby items started in store today!  But as with a lot of the fantastic items Aldi sell, they work on a 'when they're gone they're gone' basis. So get in there quick to pick your little lady or dude up some fantastic 'Fashion For Less'!!!!
