Wild side - book 1 Kari Stillwell series. By Kelly Goode

Since my company relocated us to the other side of London, my Kindle was given a dusting off. I have become an avid reader again.  A hour and half each way, plus my lunch hours some days, leads to me getting through books at an astonishing rate!

My choices are usually of the chick lit kind. Easy, mellow, sometimes funny reads. I've tried the odd autobiography, but I get bored quickly.
I'd heard of a new author, who lives local to me. Kelly Goode, was an up & coming author. She has self published her first 2 books in the Kari Stillwell series. I was told they were a vampire diaries/twilight kinda thing, with a little pinch of 50 shades thrown in for good measure.
I've never read something of this genre before, so I thought why not. Worth a try!
It cost me £1.99 to download to my kindle. A bargain!!

Well after spending 2 weeks on my latest read. A ficious circle of being desperate to finish it because it was so dull, mixed with struggling to concentrate on it, because it was so dull! Led to it taking longer than any other book ever had!!  When it finished, I was excited & eager to get stuck in to something new, & Wild Side was calling my name!!!

I wasn't sure how I'd get on, as it's not my normal thing, but by Chapter 4 I was hooked!! I had nothing to worry about!  I couldn't get enough & hated my journey finishing. Normally it takes me a lot longer to get into a book, but the first few pages had even me gripped.  Kari draws you in & you can't help but fall slightly in love with her!

The weird and wonderful world of the supernatural is given a new slant. And as each chapter passed I wanted more. The story leaves you guessing. Just as you think you work something/someone out, it changes!! As frustrating as it was, not being able to guess what was going to happen (I'm a bit of a 'I know what's happening' person), it was fantastic to be fooled!

I also loved that the chapters were short. It's great when you have kids to be able to pick something up, and get a quick chapter in here & there.

As I said, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it, but I loved it! The magical world was interesting. The story kept me guessing. And with out giving anything away, the 50 shades moments done their job 😉

Book 2 in the series "The Kindler" is out now.  And book 3 is due very soon!!

Dive into Kari's world! Take a trip on the Wild Side! She'll leave you wanting more!

Aldi bedroom special buys range! Get yours now!

I haven't done my usual Friday trip to Aldi in a little while, so thought I'd pop today after I'd dropped Mstr J at school, and boy I was glad I did!

This week Aldi's special buys, their 'once they're gone they're gone' items, have a Bedroom range!!  Being a woman, obviously I love a bit of bedding!!  The timing couldn't be better, we're currently doing up our spare room, so I was keeping an eye out for bargains in the bedding department!

My first spot, was the beautiful duvet sets they have ........
Printed Duvet Set (£6.99 - £12.99)

Give your bedroom or guest room a spring makeover with Aldi Specialbuys stylish printed duvet sets. Available in a choice of six reversible designs in single, double and king sets, each set gives you two-looks in one.

I bought the double, for £9.99. It was meant for the spare room, but it is very similar to my fave Cath kidston designs, and also very similar to some expensive bedding I've bought in BHS. It might end up on my bed instead!

Out of the pack, it feels really soft and silky. Better than other "cheap" sets I've bought in the past. I can't wait to try it out.

I also picked up a mattress protector. This cost £5.79 for the double.  My mattress is getting a bit 'springy', I am hoping it will shield my poor ribs from a spring in the night!  It was a bargain!!  I've put it on the bed already, and of course I had to try it out with a little lie down.  It definitely felt so much better, so I can't wait for tonight to try it out properly!

These are also great for single beds where you have kids who aren't, 'well trained' yet. Saves your poor mattress getting spoilt.

I then kitted out the spare bed with a double duvet, only £12.99, and a pack of 4 pillows, only £7.99!

These are the cheapest I've found so far. The duvet is 10.5 Tog.  And the pillows as you can see look huge! I can't wait to get my head down on one!!

They had plenty of stock to fit single beds up to king size.

They also had an inflatable double bed and child bed. Great to have in the cupboard as a quick solve for those guests that just won't go home ;0)

As usual with Aldi special buys, when they're gone they're gone, so get yours before they go!  And get yourself a good comfy night sleep, at a bargain price!!
